inI began to search what makes installation art, would a method like Chloes be referred as installation?
It seems like it would but i wouldn’t be so set on it as it seems like pretty much anything can be installation art.

inI was hoping this website will give me some sort of definition on what an art gallery actually is. instead it became more of a bitchy load of comments to inexperienced photographers of what not to do when concerning a gallery.

inWe had a guest speaker at uni called Chloe dewe Mathews. A photographer who told us about here solo show she created in 2009 called banger boys. here she exhibited in a garage and used a bashed up car to add to the atmosphere in the images.
she is a great example on how the photograph in a gallery can be transformed!

inI thought this text would help find an easy explanation to what defines an art gallery as Jonathan James seems so direct.
although interesting this article is more of a document on the Saatchi gallery.

inquite a corny website. in looking for written material that explore what a gallery actually is i found this:
http://www.onekindesign.com/2013/10/11/58-stylish-ways-transform-ordinary-walls-art-gallery-walls/
More of an interior design blog but in their view a gallery seems to be a space to hand images, you can call it a gallery or not ?

injonathan jones argued that image viewed on ipads will be a much greater platform for images. i agree with this greatly! so i found Andres Gursky who is claer evidence that an ipad cant always work to benefit the photographer.
Gursky – “The pictures are not so small that you can’t recognise anything; and they are still big enough that if you approach them you can get many details. But there are also images like Kamiokande which can’t be read in a small size – it can only develop its power in a bigger format.’”

inIn looking at images that i found particually lifeless within a gallery i reminded my self of David Lynch’s exhibition in the photographers gallery 2014.
